Our Projects

Gromit Unleashed

Gromit Unleashed began as a public arts trail of 80 giant artist and celebrity decorated Gromit sculptures, which appeared across Bristol in 2013 to raise funds for The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity. The sculptures raised £2.3 million at auction, and Gromit Unleashed continues to raise vital funds for sick children through exclusive figurines and merchandise, raising over £5 million to date.

Shaun in the City

In 2015 The Grand Appeal organised Shaun in the City, two charity arts trails across Bristol and London featuring 120 decorated sculptures of Shaun the Sheep. The flock was auctioned in October 2015 for over £1 million, with all funds raised from Shauns that appeared on the London trail going to Wallace & Gromit's Children's Charity, and all funds raised from sculptures that appeared on the Bristol trail benefiting The Grand Appeal. All proceeds from Shaun in the City merchandise, including exclusive Shaun figurines, now helps The Grand Appeal support sick children in hospitals in Bristol and across the UK.

Gromit Unleashed 2

In Gromit Unleashed 2 Nick Park's Academy Award®-winning character Gromit returned to Bristol for his second starring role in The Grand Appeal's sculpture trails, but this time he was not alone; the loveable pooch was joined by his pal Wallace and arch nemesis Feathers McGraw! The trail featured over 60 giant sculptures designed by high-profile artists, designers, innovators and local talent. Sculptures were positioned in high footfall and iconic locations around Bristol and the surrounding area, making the perfect family day out around the city and beyond.

66 of the Gromit Unleashed 2 sculptures were auctioned off on Wednesday 3 October under the wings of Concorde at Bristol Aerospace, raising over £1.3 million for Bristol Children's Hospital and St Michael's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
